From 15b1b4dd3fccfd2576f44841863153c312de011b Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Peter Eisentraut Date: Tue, 29 Apr 2025 11:32:49 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] pg_restore: Improve --help synopsis The --help synopsis should only be one line. This rephrases the first line a bit to reflect the new functionality of restoring multiple databases from pg_dumpall output. Additional explanations are better kept in the man page. --- src/bin/pg_dump/pg_restore.c | 3 +-- 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+), 2 deletions(-) diff --git a/src/bin/pg_dump/pg_restore.c b/src/bin/pg_dump/pg_restore.c index 2b69ae1f91f..f2182e91825 100644 --- a/src/bin/pg_dump/pg_restore.c +++ b/src/bin/pg_dump/pg_restore.c @@ -653,8 +653,7 @@ restore_one_database(const char *inputFileSpec, RestoreOptions *opts, static void usage(const char *progname) { - printf(_("%s restores a PostgreSQL database from an archive created by pg_dump or pg_dumpall.\n" - "If the archive is created by pg_dumpall, then restores multiple databases also.\n\n"), progname); + printf(_("%s restores PostgreSQL databases from archives created by pg_dump or pg_dumpall.\n\n"), progname); printf(_("Usage:\n")); printf(_(" %s [OPTION]...
