try to catch MiddlewareError exceptions in django middleware instead of case by case

256MB for firmware downloads seems excessive. Reduce to 32MB.

We need to rethink where these files are placed because it
would cause issues if a) /var was getting low on space, or
b) the system was under memory pressure.

Use correct name in copyright

use file django session backend, avoid hitting the database/disk on every new session

leave TIME_ZONE = None to use the system timezone

use a middleware to set login_required as a default behavior
