dbUnit Eclipse Plugin
Edit dbUnit dataset files like a spreadsheet, inside the Eclipse IDE.
The dbUnit Dataset Editor opens dbUnit dataset files as a grid: each table is a sheet, its rows are spreadsheet rows, and its values are cells. Edits are written back into the file with minimal text changes, so comments, formatting, and the rest of the file stay as they were and version-control diffs stay small. A Source tab shows the text of the dataset; both views always show the same content.
The plugin currently supports the dbUnit flat XML format; other dataset formats are planned.
Features
- One sheet per table, with the rows in file order, and tables that appear in several places of the file merged as dbUnit merges them.
- Spreadsheet editing: type to replace a value, F2 or double-click to edit it, Enter and Tab to move on.
- NULL and the empty string kept apart, as dbUnit keeps them apart.
- Rows, columns, and tables: insert, duplicate, move, and delete rows; add, rename, and delete columns and tables.
- Copy and paste cell ranges to and from spreadsheet applications, and fill down.
- Undo and redo shared with the Source page, with every command, and every paste, one undo step.
- A Source page with syntax coloring for light and dark themes, and the selection kept in step with the Tables page.
- Warnings about content dbUnit ignores or rejects, such as a column missing from a table’s first row.
- DTD support: the tables and columns a dataset’s DTD declares.
- A wizard for new datasets.
- Preferences that match the editor to your tests' column sensing and table name case.
