OhDamn
I loaded XAMPP with Apache 2.2.4 a couple of weeks ago and it has been running fine. Today the Apache service has been running at 100% of processor capacity as seen on Windows Task Manager. This morning I deleted EclipsePHP because it had too many optional packages and downloaded a new version of EclipsePHP with just the basics. About the time I started Eclipse, Apache took off. Even if I stop Eclipse, Apache still takes 100% of the processor capacity. Is there a tool that I can download to see what Apache is doing? In Task Manager, I can see that Apache is moving hundreds of megabytes of data ... somewhere! If I stop Apache, the processor goes back to about 4% and if I restart Apache, it goes back to 100%. I can see that it isn't moving data across my firewall, so it must be an internal problem. Any suggestions? OhDamn
Thanks, Effigy for your reply. It took me a couple of days to figure it out, but it was a corrupted registry entry for winsock.exe. - Jim Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/71313-solved-runaway-apache-server/#findComment-359783 Share on other sites
