Re forkify // Search over 1,000,000 recipes
SVG images display fine on my site in my development environment but fail to do so when it is built/ deployed via Netlify. Deployment set up to use Parcel as per package.json below. SVG file paths appear to check out with the deploy file browser.

@John-M-Gates Try running your build locally, then serving the built output.
For example npm run build && npx serve dist
If you see the same issue, then you’ll know it’s unrelated to Netlify and you can proceed accordingly.
For anyone else to investigate, you’ll need to provide a link to a public repository.
Thanks for that. Yes I have the same issue locally so indeed it’s not related to Netlify.

After the package.json changed to include regenerator-runtime dependency the app when locally built (npm run build && npx serve dist) now shows svg icons. However when the change was deployed via Netlify the svg icons are still not visible. The icons are all on a single svg file.
On downloading the svg file from the Netlify Deploy file browser it is empty with just the svg tag :-

@John-M-Gates Have you confirmed you’re looking at the output of the changed version on Netlify?
(E.g. You’re not somehow still looking at the original output?)
What I’m doing is clicking on the latest deploy in Netlify with the message ‘Apr 28: Fix to package.json re: Svg icons images not showing’ which takes me to the deploy details for that deployment. I then scroll down to the Deploy file browser section and download the icons.c5b0f01c.svg file. This file is empty with just an svg tag. When I view the corresponding file in github at https://github.com/jmgates12a/forkify-app/blob/master/src/img/icons.svg the code for the icons is present. Do I need to somehow re-deploy the svg?

Ok I’ve done that and found when I run npm run build && npx serve dist in the new folder the svgs are missing there so it’s not Netlify. Thank you for your help. I’ll keep investigating and let you when I find a solution
