Trained as a computer scientist, I see myself as an engineer who identifies design tradeoffs and makes strategic decisions. My core interest goes beyond designing rational programs; I care more about the interaction between humans and increasingly autonomous machines.
- π I am the founder of Latere AI: looping human values behind every autonomous AI system. We build applications and platform services for autonomous agents on one principle: agents take initiative, humans stay informed and in control.
- 𧩠The Latere platform is built on open source cores: Topos (multi-agent runtime), Lux (LLM gateway), Cella (sandboxes), Origo (Git hosting), and Arca (storage), plus Fornax and Forma for serving and running open-weight models on compute you control.
- π€ On top of the platform sit applications: Wallfacer (an open source AI engineering teammate), Lectio (document intelligence), and ReplicHAI (reproducibility audits for research papers).
- π I hold a Ph.D. (Dr. rer. nat.) in computer science from LMU Munich, with a human-computer interaction major. Previously, I was a Staff Engineer @Sixt SE, where I led the organization-wide AI transformation and built its pricing automation and revenue optimization systems. I continue to teach as an External Lecturer @LMU Munich.
- π My research focuses on human-AI interaction, at the intersection of human-computer interaction, machine learning, cognitive and social psychology, computer graphics, and system programming.
- π± I love open source and speak Go, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, etc.
- π I author π» software projects, π publications, π¬ YouTube videos, and a βοΈ blog.
- π I write books: An Unverifiable World, AI as an Infrastructure: From Systems to Agents, Go: Under the Hood, and Modern C++ Tutorial.
- βοΈ I founded the πΉ golang.design initiative and maintain it in my spare time.
