A careful Claude Code skill for checking GitHub issues, pull requests, CI runs, releases, and security alerts with the gh CLI.

GitHub work can go wrong with one rushed command.

A review may miss failed tests or risky code. A stale rule may close work that still matters. A release may use the wrong tag.

This skill is for developers and maintainers who want Claude Code to inspect first, show proof, and ask before making major changes. It plugs into your normal GitHub flow and has no extra dependencies beyond Git, GitHub CLI, and Claude Code.

Replace YOUR-USER with the GitHub account that hosts your fork.

Open Claude Code inside a Git repo and ask:

Review pull request 81. Check its full context, code changes, tests, docs, CI, and merge state. Do not merge or comment.

Expected result:

Repository: owner/project
Pull request: #81
CI: 1 failed check
Main concern: The new error path has no test.
Merge state: GitHub is still checking.
Action taken: None

The skill checks the Git remote, GitHub login, repo name, and default branch before work. It reads the full pull request and reports what it finds. It does not merge, comment, rerun CI, or change code unless you ask.

You can also ask it to:

Triage issue 42, but only draft the labels and reply.
Find the cause of the latest failed CI run.
Draft release notes since the last release.
Review open Dependabot alerts and list high-risk items first.

• Rewrites the Japanese metadata description into clear English with explicit activation cues and adds an ECC attribution note.
• Adds strong safety and authorization rules: inspect first, protect secrets, confirm repo/account, and avoid merges, closures, comments, releases, reruns, or code changes unless requested.
• Introduces setup checks for Git remotes, authentication, repository identity, default branch, and --repo usage outside a Git checkout.
• Makes issue and PR review more rigorous by requiring full context, label validation, code/test/doc review, and careful interpretation of GitHub’s merge state.
• Replaces rigid stale automation with repo-aware defaults, human review, protected categories, and dates calculated from today.
