input redirection doesn't work

Expected behavior

it works

Actual behavior

At line:1 char:16

+                ~
The '<' operator is reserved for future use.

I am also not seeing this work properly, different input and ouput methods though.

I take it back, it is working for me

This method of input redirection (- <) has worked for years with PowerShell CLR, and it appears it still works with the new. 👍

Input redirection to powershell works and is tested - it's just that input redirection doesn't work from powershell.

While this seems like a nice to have on the surface, there are some things that you can do in Bash that you just can't do in PowerShell at the moment. The biggest use case I have for this is with diff. For example: PS> diff -u <(Get-Content -Raw one.json | jp *) <(Get-Content -Raw two.json | jp *)

I work with a lot of JSON, and sometimes I need a textual diff. Doing so requires that the data be normalized first and I'd like to avoid creating temporary files to do this, especially in cases where the JSON data may contain sensitive information.

Also, this isn't just a Linux/Mac issue; its usefulness is just as significant on Windows.
