dear stoics,
once a year comes the ultimate update, and that time is now! to make stoic ready for the new system and its features, we've packed in more than we can list here. but these are the highlights:
- onscreen awareness - stoic now tells siri and apple intelligence what's on your screen, so you can ask about the entry, exercise or quote you're looking at, and siri can open, search or act on it directly. it can also find your entries by what you wrote, tags, date or exercise.
- app intents and shortcuts - create a journal entry with date, location, tags and photos, or log a mood check-in straight from shortcuts. exercises and quotes now show up in spotlight too.
- foundation models - your journal photos get an on-device description with apple intelligence, so stoic ai can take them into account. you'll find it in the gallery, and you can switch it off under your data.
- deeper liquid glass integration - a redesigned photo gallery with glass controls, the trends period picker now lives in the tab bar accessory, and search moved into the bottom toolbar on iphone, closer to your thumb.
siri only reads your entries if you let it - the switch is under your data, siri & search. and as always, a round of fixes came along, like opening stoic from a notification or widget no longer getting hijacked by the launch check-in.
we hope you love the upgraded stoic and enjoy exploring the new stuff. let us know what you think!
happy journaling!

dear stoics,
your practices has landed on ipad and mac. pick, reorder, and search your favorite exercises right from the today screen, now on every device. here's what else is new:
- multiple improvements to your practices - polished drag and drop, context menus on practice cells, a smarter add-from-library sheet, and better search.
- the today screen and daily check-in now adapt properly to resizable windows - split view, stage manager, and mac resizing included.
- a heads-up before importing a backup made by a newer app version, so nothing gets lost along the way.
- a deep round of sync fixes - entries and photo or voice edits no longer get lost mid-sync, and sync no longer stalls after the app sits unused for a while.
- also sorted: journey freezing on large journals, morning check-ins cancelling evening reminders, and document exports skipping quotes and questions.
more updates are already in the works, so talk to you soon!

dear stoics,
here's what's new:
- fresh daily prompts through october - new sparks for your late-summer reflections.
- journaling suggestion notifications finally work with stoic - if you've turned them on in ios settings, tapping one now takes you straight into the app.
- a heads-up for lifetime buyers whose old subscription is still renewing, so nobody ends up paying twice.
on the fixing side, we cleared out a batch of crashes - saving an empty journaling suggestion, stopping a voice recording, browsing history and trends, and opening a memory on a fresh journey. upgrading to ai on a discounted plan works again too.
thanks, as always, for flagging what doesn't work as it should. stay tuned!
happy journaling!

dear stoics,
a lighter update this time, with a few things worth knowing:
- stoic ai got a bit more personal - prompts and reflections should feel more like they're written for you.
- ai token limits now renew weekly instead of monthly, so if you ever hit the cap, you're never more than a few days from a fresh start.
- on the fixing side: badges no longer unlock from empty check-in drafts, and we closed a gap where the app lock could be skipped right after a single unlock.
- keep an eye on your profile - some of you will find a special lifetime offer waiting there.
thanks, as always, for flagging what doesn't work as it should. stay tuned!

dear stoics,
a big one this time: stoic now offers lifetime access - pay once and it's yours for good. you'll find it right next to the usual plans. here's what else is new:
- ideas are now quotes - same tab, a name that finally says what it is.
- we redesigned the personalization and customization screens, so making stoic truly yours is clearer and easier.
- fixed a bug that made reflections impossible to reorder, and sorted out the first day of your journey not showing up right.
thanks for all the notes you send our way - keep them coming. stay tuned!
happy journaling!

dear stoics,
a little summer refresh for you. fresh daily prompts for july and august are now in - new sparks for your summer reflections. we've also fixed a crash on the newsletter screen for those of you on older ios and mac versions, and sorted out ai features that were sometimes replying in a random language - they now stick to one that makes sense.
thanks, as always, for telling us what's not working - it's how these get caught. stay tuned!

2026.13 7月1日
dear stoics,
this update brings a brand new way to stay connected with us. here's what's new:
- you can now sign up for our newsletter right from the app — find it in your profile. subscribe and you'll even unlock a special badge for it.
- we've added deeplinks to weekly themes and library categories, so you can jump straight to your favorite content from links we share.
- fixed a handful of crashes: one when rating journal templates, one in the meditation setup flow, and one when picking journaling suggestions. also fixed mood check-in editing not showing up correctly in your journey.
Probably no need to mention because that's done with every release, but we've also included some more or less minor fixes to keep the app going bug-free. till next time!
happy journaling,

2026.12 6月7日
dear stoics,
only good things coming your way with this one. a lot has changed, so let's get to it right away:
- added a new batch of weekly themes with daily prompts as thought-provoking as ever.
- improved ai check-in reactions - the encouragements you get after a check-in now work across all your metrics, custom ones included.
- made journaling prompts smarter - ai prompts now read the room much better as they adapt to the category you're writing in and the time of day, etc.
- fixed a few things such as: infinite loading during check-ins on older ios versions, dark/light mode for pop-up images, meditation problems (completion stats, animations), and some recurring crashes here and there.
we hope this update makes your journaling more satisfying and calming, especially during mental health awareness month. take care of your minds and till the next time!
happy journaling,

dear stoics,
this one is a seriously packed update. a lot was done, so let's get straight to it:
- your profile got a tune-up: we moved the daily check-in, morning, and evening reflections customization options there;
- there's now a plus button above the tab bar on the today screen so you can access new options more easily;
- we've added a whole new batch of your beloved weekly themes;
- we also brought back the trends tab (some of you really missed it).
now about fixing stuff: some of you reported missing journals and history entries — those are now back where they belong. we've also fixed some crashes and freezes, improved focus notifications, journey reloading, and the pull-to-refresh feature. and for the mac app, we fixed a bug that made it impossible to open the photo library.
phew, that's all for now! hope these improvements make your spring journaling more satisfying and relaxing.

dear stoics,
every once in a while, we release an update focused purely on fixing small bugs. they might be minor, but sometimes even little things can make the stoic experience feel less… stoic. this is one of those updates. so, we’ve fixed a few issues, added some upcoming mindful events, and made improvements behind the scenes to help the app run smoothly, crash-free, and most importantly — frustration-free.

dear stoics,
we have a new release ready for you — as always, packed with goodies. this time, we’ve added a new batch of content (specifically, new weekly themes for your daily dose of journaling inspiration). but the two most important updates are:
- a fix for a bug that kept mislabeling your journaling templates
- a new and improved look for emotions check-ins, with more emotions to choose from and new short guided journals to help you reflect more deeply on your state of mind.
we hope these changes improve your journaling flow in the best way. more updates are coming so talk to you very soon!

dear stoics,
this week’s release puts the focus on focus! that’s right — we’ve upgraded and refreshed the way you choose your focus during morning preparation and daily check-in. it’s now clearer, handier, and way nicer to use.
deciding what you want to focus on gives your day intention, which helps you stay on track with your habits, get out of a rut or that annoying aimlessness we all feel sometimes. if you haven’t used this feature yet, give it a try!
as always, we’ve also made a few small fixes and behind-the-scenes improvements. so, until next time!

dear stoics,
dropping off a new update! this one brings quite a handful of improvements and important fixes.
let’s start with what’s new:
- redesigned and improved voice memos: we’ve upgraded the voice memos experience, so recording spoken journal entries should be smoother, easier, and more reliable.
- nicer first check-in experience: we’ve improved the first check-in flow. although this mainly concerns our new users, we figured — why not mention it here.
what have we fixed?
- an issue that could cause the app to freeze for some users,
- a bug that could lead to data loss in daily routines.
we also want to say thanks for all your feedback; it genuinely helps us improve stoic and make it as bug-free as possible!
happy journaling!

2026.3 1月23日
dear stoics,
we couldn’t wait any longer — our first release of the new year is here!
here’s what’s new:
- our four most-loved ai mentors now have their own guided journals, designed to lift your spirits, calm your mind, improve focus, and help you unwind before sleep. try them all!
- we’ve made updates to the onboarding flow. onboarding is where many journeys begin, but you can always revisit it via your profile to set new focus areas for the app.
- we added a lock screen ideas widget, so your daily dose of inspiration is always within reach.
- we introduced a 1-month option for premium gift vouchers — perfect for those not ready for a longer commitment, and a great new year gift for someone you care about.
wishing you a calm, reflective, and well-rested start to the new year!
happy journaling,

dear stoics,
we’re back with a small but important update. this release fixes a temporary issue with stoic shield — everything should now be working smoothly again. we’ve also restored your morning and evening routine settings to how you had them before.
We also wanted to clear up a bit of confusion around check-in and routines. you can choose whether you’d like to check in once a day with the daily check-in, or twice a day with morning and evening reflections. to do this, scroll to the bottom of your home screen and tap 'personalize'.
as this is likely our last release before the winter holidays, the stoic team would like to wish you a calm and comforting season, spent exactly the way you like it. We hope stoic brings you a few moments of rest and reflection along the way!
happy and cozy journaling!

dear stoics,
this release arrives just in time for last-minute winter holiday gifting! you can now give stoic to someone you care about with a one-year premium ai voucher. it's a thoughtful way to support your loved ones’ mental well-being. we hope your friends and family will come to love stoic just as much as you do.
oh, but there’s more! our much-loved widgets have received a refresh — they’re now easier to use and look much better. we’ve also added an option to hide the community check-in counter in preferences, for those of you who prefer to see less numbers on your home screen. that’s all for now but we’ll be back soon with the final release of 2025, so stay tuned!

dear stoics,
this release brings you a fresh, big batch of daily inspiration content, including new weekly themes, new quotes, and more. we’ve also added some fixes and improvements: you’ll now find check-ins and badges in the journey filters, plus some UI tweaks to give the app a cleaner look.
there’s also an important update for anyone using a system older than iOS 17. this will be the last release that delivers new content on those devices. don’t worry, the app will continue to work just fine, but the features and content already available will remain as they are. if this applies to you, you can read more in our help center on our website.

dear stoics
you know us — we can’t go a week without improving something! this time, we focused on making your favorites more accessible and easier to use.
from now on, your favorite exercises, journals, and check-ins have a new place on the home screen (or in the sidebar if you journal on ipad and mac). they also have a new name: your practices. so, take a look and see how easy it is to build your own insightful library of activities you love the most and return to every day.
that’s all for now, but as always, stay tuned for something very special coming soon!

dear stoics,
this week’s update focuses on making your journaling experience smoother and more enjoyable:
- you’ll notice a refreshed look on the journey screen. we’ve given it a small redesign to make reflecting even nicer.
- we also have something for all of you who love stats or enjoy a sense of togetherness: you’ll now find a new counter on your home screen showing how many people journaled with stoic today. a small reminder that you’re part of a big, fantastic community!
- and lastly, we fixed a couple of crashes happening on ipads. thanks to our devs, those are officially a thing of the past!
as usual, keep an eye on future updates - we're always preparing something special.
happy journaling!

dear stoics,
here we go with another exciting improvement! we’re happy to introduce tags for your journals and routines! now you can add tags to all of your entries to keep things organized and find them quickly in the app. to do that, tap the three dots icon in the top-right corner of your journal or activity card, or go to the end of your journal and add a tag there. it’s as simple as it gets!
we’ve also fixed a few bugs and made improvements across iphone, ipad, and mac apps, especially when it comes to screen width issues.
we hope you enjoy our new additions and stay tuned, as we’ve got plenty more coming up!
happy journaling!
