Yorkie Puppy Takes a Tiny ‘Mud Bath’ and Ends Up Looking Just Like a Piglet
I’ve never understood why dogs love being dirty so much. I will bathe my dogs and turn around three seconds later to find them dirty again, and I know I’m not alone. I’ve just never seen the appeal: I personally hate rolling around in the mud, but apparently, there’s something to love.
One Yorkie puppy certainly thinks so. Luckily for him, he’s so tiny that he can turn even the smallest of puddles into a mud bath. His spa day might be very dirty, but it was also very cute:
Caity V’s Yorkie puppy looked like a tumbleweed at first! It took me a second to realize that there was a dog under all that. He had already taken a pretty generous mud bath before the video, but of course, one wasn’t enough! He had to have another.
He ended up finding a little pot full of dirty water to take a bath in, but it wasn’t enough for him. He decided to roll around in some dirt, too, just to make sure it all got in there. He really likes being dirty, so once he had a bath, I’m sure he just did it again. They always do!

The pup’s name is Walter. He lives on a farm with his parents and all of their animals, and he genuinely seems to believe he runs the place. He’s not afraid to go toe-to-toe with the roosters or even the larger livestock guardian dogs:

It’s always the little ones who think they have all the power in the world, and I love it. Most big dogs are such sweethearts, and then you have the little guys. They know they’re tiny, so they have to be intimidating!
Why Do Dogs Love Mud So Much?
Walter is not the only dog in the world who loves mud. In fact, not even close. When given the opportunity, most dogs would probably choose a mud puddle over staying clean and dry. Walter would sleep there if his mom let him!
Dogs love mud for several reasons. They love to roll around whenever they can. Mud helps mask their scent, which can make them less vulnerable to predators. They love that. Beyond that, they love to roll around in mud because:
It helps them cool off.
They like the way it feels.
It’s mentally stimulating.
It can help soothe itchy or irritated skin.
Letting your dog roll around in the mud won’t hurt them, but doing it too often can be bad: you have to bathe them every time, and too many baths can irritate their skin. Not that Walter cares. That little guy is going to do whatever he wants!
